Documents on a trip

All the paperwork for a trip lives in one place: Organise, then Documents.

What belongs here

Flight tickets, hotel and rental confirmations, tour vouchers, travel insurance for the trip, and anything else you may need to open while you are away. Personal items like your passport belong in Travel documents instead.

Adding one

Press Add document and choose where it comes from:

• Take a photo, straight from your phone camera.
• Choose a file, a PDF or an image, including iPhone HEIC photos.

Who can see it

You choose this as you upload:

• Shared with trip: everyone on the trip can open it.
• Only me: nobody else can open it, even people on the trip.

Followers holding a share link never see trip documents.

Opening one

Tap a document to open it in the viewer, then download it or open it in another app. On iPhone, use the open button rather than long pressing the preview.

Attaching a document to a day

A document can be linked to one or more itinerary entries, so the hotel confirmation sits on the night you check in. Open the itinerary entry and use Documents, then Attach, or attach it from the document itself.

Three separate choices

Adding a booking to your plan, adding its cost to Money, and choosing who can see the document are separate decisions. A confirmation kept as Only me can still produce an itinerary entry and an expense, without anyone else seeing the document itself.
