Live check-ins

A check-in says "I am here, right now". It lands on your plan, and on the share link your followers are watching.

Making a check-in

1. 1Press Check in on the trip.
2. 2BucketBuddy fills in the place and the time from your location. Edit either if you like.
3. 3Add a photo from your camera or library, or generate a picture of the place with AI (Pro).
4. 4Save.

Checking in on a booking

If the stop is already in your plan, a hotel, a flight or a restaurant, check in on that entry instead so it stays attached. See Checking in on a booking.

More than one traveller

Everyone on the trip can check in, and all check-ins appear together in time order. See Checking in with other travellers.

Who sees a check-in

• Everyone on the trip.
• Anyone holding your share link, if you have switched sharing on.

So a check-in is as public as your share link. If you have sent that link widely, treat a check-in as something strangers may read. Disable the link, or add a passcode, if you would rather keep it close. See Passcode-protecting the share link.

The shared page uses the location information saved with the check-in, such as the place name and the point on the map. Your home address is never published.
