Check-in photos and generated images (Pro)

Every check-in can carry a picture.

Take or upload a real photo

Choose "Photo" and your phone opens the camera (or your library). The photo is resized automatically so uploads stay fast, and it is added to the trip photo album on the correct day as well as to the check-in itself.

AI-painted pictures (Pro)

Choose "AI" and BucketBuddy generates a travel-style image inspired by the place you checked in at. It uses the saved location as context, but the image is illustrative and may not exactly match the real landmark or surroundings. Generation takes a few seconds and the image appears automatically when it is ready.

AI check-in pictures are part of BucketBuddy Pro. On the Free plan you can still check in with a real photo or with no picture at all.
