Inviting people

Crew invitations and trip invitations are separate, and they give different access.

Inviting someone to a trip

1. 1Open the trip and press Invite.
2. 2Enter their email address and send, or copy the join link.

Accepting makes them a participant on that trip, so they can help with the plan, tasks, packing, shared documents, money and trip chat.

Inviting someone to a crew

Open the crew and invite from the members area. Accepting makes them a crew member, with crew chat and the crew's trip ideas.

Crew membership on its own does not put someone on every trip in that crew. Trips still need their own invitation.

If they do not have an account yet

They can open the invitation, create an account, and they are added once their email is confirmed. Nothing is lost if they sign up first and open the invitation afterwards.

Signed out when they click

The invitation waits for them. They sign in or sign up, and BucketBuddy takes them straight back to the invitation.

Use the right account

Where an invitation was sent to a specific email address, it only works for the account using that address. If they sign in with a different account, the page says so and nothing is applied. Ask them to sign out and sign in with the invited address.

Where invitations turn up

An invitation waiting on you can also appear under Pending invitations on your dashboard or crew list, so you can accept it without hunting for the email.

If an invitation does not arrive

• Ask them to check the junk folder.
• Check the address for a typo, then send it again.
• As a fallback, send the join link directly.

Followers are different

A follower gets a view only share link and cannot edit anything. See Followers, participants and shared trips.
