Trip ideas show an estimated cost per person so nobody signs up for something they cannot afford.

How it works

• On your profile, set the per-trip budget range you are comfortable with.
• Each trip idea has an estimated cost per person. BucketBuddy compares your range with each idea and flags the fit.
• The compatibility score marks down ideas that sit outside most members' budgets.

Updating the estimate

Anyone in the crew can update the estimate as plans firm up:

1. 1Open the trip idea.
2. 2Choose Edit trip.
3. 3Update the estimated cost per person.

Estimate or actual spending?

They answer different questions.

• Estimated cost per person is one traveller's expected personal cost.
• Trip committed is the total cost of every recorded trip expense, paid or not.

Compare the estimate with Your share of the trip, never with the whole trip's committed spending. See Expenses and splits.
