Confirming a trip

1 min readUpdated Aug 4, 2026

What confirming means

Confirming turns a trip idea into a trip that is actually happening. It is the moment BucketBuddy stops asking should we? and starts asking are we ready?

How to confirm

  1. 1Open the trip and go to Plan.
  2. 2Set your start and end dates.
  3. 3Press Confirm trip.

What changes

  • The trip moves from Deciding to Planning, so the Overview starts prompting about the itinerary, tasks and documents instead of votes.
  • Day-by-day planning opens up, because there are now real days to plan.
  • Everyone in a crew trip can see it is going ahead.

Not ready yet?

Leave it unconfirmed. Voting, comments and rough notes all work before you confirm — you lose nothing by waiting.

Changing your mind

Dates can be edited after confirming, and the plan moves with them. If the trip falls through, you can leave or delete it from the trip menu.
