The four stages of a trip

Trips change shape as they go

BucketBuddy moves a trip through four stages and quietly rearranges the Overview to match. You never set this by hand — it follows your dates and what you have confirmed.

Deciding

No dates locked in yet. The Overview pushes voting, dates and the basics. Trip ideas can still come and go.

Planning

The trip is confirmed and still ahead of you. Now the Overview leans on the itinerary, tasks, documents and who is going.

On the trip

Your dates have started. The Overview switches to today — where you are meant to be, what to check in on, and adding expenses as they happen. It stays here for a while after a late activity, so a long final day does not send you home early.

Wrap-up

The trip has ended. The Overview turns to settling money, the photo album and the trip summary.

If the stage looks wrong

Check the dates under Plan first — that is what drives it. A trip with no end date stays on the trip until you add one.
