Notifications

BucketBuddy sends three kinds of notifications:

• In-app — the bell in the top bar.
• Push — mobile/desktop notifications (requires installing the app or granting browser permission).
• Email — for higher-signal events like invites and payment requests.

Managing preferences

Profile → Notifications. For each event (chat messages, new trip ideas, votes, payment requests, activity, admin) toggle in-app / push / email independently.

Enabling push

1. 1Install BucketBuddy as a PWA (see Install the app).
2. 2On first launch inside the installed app, tap Enable notifications.
3. 3Approve the browser prompt.

If push isn't arriving, check the Notifications section of your OS Settings. BucketBuddy shows a small "Push blocked" banner with a step-by-step Unblock help dialog.

Muting temporarily

Turn off individual channels per event type — no need to log out.
